Colorful Historic Houses by Singapore River at Clarke Quay

Clarke Quay

Located just across the Singapore River over a bridge, Clarke Quay is one of the most famous entertainment zones in Singapore and practically needs no introduction. Its eclectic mix of restaurants, riverside outdoor dining areas, drinking joints and snazzy nightlife has made it one of the top choices for locals and tourists alike.

Clarke Quay itself is a historic conserved site – from its early days serving as a loading/unloading dock, it was later designated as a commercial and entertainment district.

Managed by CapitaLand, Clarke Quay boasts of a wide range of F&B outlets, carefully selected to cater to the tastes of young urban professionals.

Following the completion of Clarke Quay MRT Station (along the North East Line) in mid-2003, Clarke Quay has seen a huge boost in popularity and footfall, cementing it one of the top destinations in the city state.

Clarke Quay Central

Managed by Far East, Clarke Quay Central is a 5-storey shopping mall directly above the Clarke Quay MRT station, offering commuters a convenient stop for shopping, rain or shine.

There are 2 office towers alongside the main shopping mall – SOHO 1 and 2, that offers compact and functional office spaces with pantries, washrooms, electric cookers and sinks.

With key tenant Don Don Donki, Clarke Quay Central offers a plethora of lifestyle oriented F&B and shopping options, including Charles and Keith, Giordano, Marutama Ramen, Starbucks and TungLok Signatures.

Clarke Quay Central
Riverside Point

Riverside Point

Also managed by Far East, Riverside Point is located just a stone’s throw away from CanningHill Piers and is a mixed-use development comprising of offices, F&B and retail outlets.

Its facade consists of pitched roofs that hail back to the history of the riverport: that of bustling trade and warehouses that one lined the quayside.

Catered for business executives, locals and tourists, the mall offers a selection of well known F&B outlets including Brewerkz, Cafe Iguana, Harry’s and Jumbo Seafood.

Orchard Shopping Belt

Probably one of Singapore’s most famous attractions, the Orchard Shopping Belt is the ultimate retail experience that brings together the best of all worlds.

The 2.2km one-way street offers a dizzying array of shopping options that can last even the most fervent of shoppers the entire day. Stretching from Tanglin Road and connecting to the next retail haven at Dhoby Ghaut, Orchard Road consists of malls on the street level and a labyrinth of underground pedestrian walkways that connects the region into a massive shopping paradise.

From malls such as Ion Orchard and Tang’s on one end with fashion and F&B options including Aldo, Bottega Veneta, Bvlgari, Chanel, Gucci and Louis Vuitton, to the more family oriented malls such as Takashimaya and Cineleisure, Orchard is a destination that caters to everyone.

Orchard Shopping Belt
Ophir Rochor Corridor

Ophir Rochor Corridor

First announced in 2008, the Ophir-Rochor corridor was earmarked by the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) for continuous development over the next ten to 15 years, as part of the plans to rejuvenate and grow the existing Central Business District (CBD).

The Ophir-Rochor corridor is flanked by the bustling arts, cultural, entertainment and education hub at Bras Basah in Bugis area as well as the historic districts at Kampong Glam and Beach Road. It offers the opportunity to extend the existing vibrant, street-level experience with a series of active courtyards, linkways and plazas, lined by pedestrian-orientated activities and uses. The development of the district will also build upon the existing signature tree planting to create a series of developments in a park-like setting with an attractive, lushly landscaped, green environment.

Arts and Civic District

Residing in the city centre also means being close to some of the most historic areas in Singapore.

Located just a few minutes walk away, the Civic District is a thriving arts, cultural and lifestyle precinct comprising historic buildings and spaces. Some of the most important landmarks of Singapore’s history are located within the area, including the former Supreme Court and City Hall, Old Parliament House, and the Padang.

With pedestrianised areas including the Anderson Bridge and Empress Place, it’s a leisurely enjoyable stroll, underneath an abundance of shade-giving trees and across wide, open lawns. There are also convenient connections to Fort Canning Park, the Bras Basah-Bugis district and the Marina Bay waterfront.

CanningHill Piers : Parks and Greenery

For future residents of CanningHill Piers who love the greenery and want to connect with nature on hikes and trails, there are many choices around!

Fort Canning Hill

Fort Canning Hill

Fort Canning Hill holds the key to Singapore’s past, having witnessed even the decision to surrender Singapore to the Japanese on 15 February 1942, in the Underground Far East Command Centre, commonly known as Battle Box.

Today, Fort Canning Park features nine historical gardens – the Pancur Larangan, Artisan’s Garden, Sang Nila Utama Garden, Jubilee Park (Phase 1), Raffles Garden, First Botanic Garden, Farquhar Garden, Spice Garden and Armenian Street Park.

The Park offers not only a 2.5km trail, but is also a popular venue for celebrations and events such as concerts, theatre productions and festivals, as well as weddings, parties and gatherings.

View a high-res map of Fort Canning Park here

Pearl's Hill City Park

As part of the Urban Redevelopment Authority’s (URA) Master Plan 2019, there are plans to make provision for a trail that connects from Fort Canning Park to Pearl’s Hill City Park through the scenic Singapore River.

Pearl’s Hill City Park is a hidden gem of peace and tranquillity. Built around a reservoir on top of a hill, the park is situated within a bustling Chinatown and a great place to take a brief respite from pace of city life.

Visitors can look forward to enjoying the wooded ambience provided by the mature Tembusu trees while basking in the serenity of the park. Alternatively, sit back and relax by the pond and admire the beautiful lotus plants. When in full bloom, the lotus plants provide a brilliant splash of colour across the pond’s still waters.

The water taxis currently cover 5 stops: Robertson Quay, Clemenceau, Clarke Quay, Boat Quay, and the Esplanade. These places will cover some attractions such as the Asian Civilisations Museum, Raffles’ Landing Site, Merlion Park, Esplanade Theatre, and Singapore Flyer.
